"It's bringing bad attention on the team. That's something we don't need, especially with what's going on with the team as far as our record. This is not the type of attention I want to bring to the team and for that I'm truly sorry." Head Coach Romeo Crennel said he believes this is Droughns' first disciplinary offense of any kind in the running back's six-year NFL career. He also verified that if Droughns is convicted, he will go through counseling, as stated by the NFL substance abuse program. "I told Reuben and the rest of the team, ‘You are responsible for you. Not only do you represent yourself, but you represent the Browns. That includes Mr. (Randy) Lerner, your teammates, the fans and the NFL,' Crennel said. "'In the choices that you make, you need to take all of those into consideration.' We, as an organization, will continue to educate our players on their choices that they make which impact their lives in a negative matter." Droughns said he did not yet know whether he has to appear at his court date Friday and miss practice or if his attorney can attend without him. He acknowledged having a big game would be a good way to begin paying the Browns back for their support. "I'm thinking about that," Droughns said. "It's been tough for me to sleep because I feel like I disrespected the team in a major way and I shouldn't have done it.
