By admin at Thu, 2005-10-27 04:54 (BCN) California Highway Patrol Officer Denis Gallotti was held to answer Wednesday to drunken driving charges following a preliminary hearing in Marin County Superior Court. Gallotti, 43, allegedly struck bicyclist Samuel McMillan, 50, of Mill Valley with his Harley Davidson motorcycle while he was off duty. Both men were injured in the crash, which occurred on June 6 on Point Reyes-Petaluma Road. Gallotti was arrested at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where he was taken after the crash for treatment of internal injuries. Today, he was held to answer to charges of DUI causing injury, DUI with a blood level of 0.08 or greater causing injury, and a special allegation that the accident caused great bodily injury, according to Assistant District Attorney Barry Borden.
